Yonge & Bloor | Dr. Masoumeh Shayesteh Manesh, ND

Hello. My name is Dr. Masoumeh Shayesteh Manesh ND, MD (IMG). I am a licensed naturopathic doctor registered with the College of Naturopaths of Ontario.

My journey started from practicing medicine from 1989—continuously for around three decades. Then, after moving to Canada, I discovered the benefits of Naturopathic Medicine. Along with my extensive medical knowledge and experience, I could combine natural health to get a new and
unique perspective, integrating the two worlds of medicine; Holistic and Allopathic; East and West; Ancient and Modern.

Through over three decades of practicing medicine, my goal has always been and is to help my patients live healthier, happier lives for longer. I truly believe that “this integrated medicine is medicine of tomorrow”, which I am proud and blessed doing that for this long. It allows me to work
with my patients holistically and help them heal from the root- layer by layer, one step at a time. So, they can finally find relief physically, mentally, and spiritually, and regain their joyful health back. I visit patients in person and virtually.

I love medicine and despite visiting patients from every walk of life, my main areas of practice include but are not limited to:

  • Women health (PCOS, fertility, PMS, endometriosis, monthly pregnancy health)
  • Skin issues (acne, eczema, hair loss)
  • Weight management and metabolic concerns (Diabetes, Cholesterol, fatty liver & bile flow)
  • Hormonal health (Thyroid, Adrenal, female and male)
  • Nervous system (stress management, fatigue and burnout)

I help my patients through using different natural modalities including:

  • Lifestyle counselling,
  • Dietary consultation,
  • Nutritional supplementation,
  • Herbal medicine,
  • Traditional Chinese medicine, (Acupuncture, Gua sha, Moxibustion)
  • Advanced lab testing
  • Facial Acupuncture

I found ‘Facial Acupuncture’ interesting. I learned if you apply it correctly, it can address many aspects of internal issues that are presenting as facial skin irregularities—from distribution of pigmentations to dull skin and early aging. For me practicing for so long it was new to learn that facial acupuncture not only helps with mild rejuvenation of skin externally, but it can also address internal issues through stimulating many acupoints related to different organs on the face. So, after learning Facial acupuncture, I incorporated it as one of the beneficial modalities in my naturopathic practice, when it is indicated.

And, the best point about visiting a Naturopathic Doctor is that you do not need to be sick at all. Naturopathy has a good command in preventative health care. So, we encourage people not to wait for diseases show themselves. Be proactive and through annual naturopathic health visits, find your hidden weak points and remedy them before they become a problem and cost you time, energy and further chronic diseases and sequels.
