Yonge & Bloor | Kelly Kangi Lam, RAc, RTCMP

Registered Acupuncturist
Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner (Herbalist)

With Kelly’s prior knowledge and experience in health and wellness, Kelly graduated top of the acupuncture program. Her professor, David Liu Dong, endorses her needling skills and understanding of Qi, especially in QiGong and TaiChi. Kelly is able to integrate modern energy healing Reiki and the traditional Chinese medicine understanding of Qi together, and works with Qi from within the inner body to the outer environment. Practicing acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine is not just a job. It’s her passion and the lifestyle she lives. She lives what she practices.

Acupuncture is only one leg of the two in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Kelly continued to pursue higher knowledge in traditional Chinese medicine, and spent another few years on TCMP and ATCMP to become a herbalist.

Kelly survives and lives with a deadly illness since birth. She takes care of herself well because she truly understands the works of traditional Chinese medicine and Qi. She deeply understands all sorts of struggles in life in terms of pain and illnesses. She learns that the mind and energies from within our body can promote self-healing. Acupuncture is merely a tool for this self-healing. Kelly understands the key to healthiness comes from the mind, body, and soul. Her ultimate goal is to spread positivity around that life is still beautiful and hopeful regardless, and she aims to help others stay healthy and look awesome.

“You’re not happy if you’re not healthy.” – Jack Ma, World Economic Forum 2017 in Toronto.

Why should patients choose you as their provider instead of others in the area?

Kelly cares, and is very open-minded.

“I don’t know what I know is how much I know. I don’t know how I know what I know. But I just know.” A friend-scholar explained studies, clinical experience, and life experience combined together is how we know what we know.

Little did I know that long before I began learning about traditional Chinese medicine in 2016, everything I learned from childhood contributed to my bank of knowledge, including my bachelor degree on Linguistics, the understanding of languages, language acquisition, and neurolinguistics. Over the years, I have studied fascia theory, Japanese and Korean acupuncture, reflexology, auricular acupuncture, scalp acupuncture, shiatsu massage, tuina massage, trigger point theory, cupping, gusha, pharmacology, western diagnosis, doula, gynaecology, everything from Acupuncture, TCMP and ATCMP programs combined and more; knowledge is knowing, wisdom is not knowing that one is actually using the knowledge but already using it. At the same time, I don’t think I know enough, so I am still schooling.

Having said that, you should choose me as your provider because I am sure I will amaze you and help you to attain good health in ways you don’t expect. Try me  =)

What are the top 3 treatments that you focus on?

  1. Cosmetic acupuncture – Your skin reveals your health. The soul surely does speak through the face to some extent. Cosmetic acupuncture in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) works to purify your body from within. I can help you with the skin. Let’s work together for overall better health.
  2. Internal medicine and fertility – Your health is reflected on many tiny signs you experience. Don’t overlook some persistent pain or indigestion or irregular menstruation. I’ve taught prenatal courses as a doula, integrated traditional Chinese medicine with western medicines, and helped women to maintain good health and wellness in postpartum.
  3. Lifestyle and diet changes. Acupuncture and medicines may take care of your problems short term. Herbal treatment can provide you a booster to the start of this journey. The long lasting solution to good health is from understanding our own body and the lifestyle we live. I can also health-coach you to attain beauty from within for the long term.

What are you proud of in your practice?

I am most proud of providing care and understanding to the people who seek treatment from me.

Which cases do you enjoy treating? Why?

Mental health related, because it’s very rewarding to see how my treatment can lift their mood and feel better. Everyone deserves happiness. Thus, mental wellness is what I focus on when I raise my children.
