Yonge & Bloor | Archie Apelo, RMT
Archie graduated from the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy in 2019. He developed a keen interest in rehabilitation, movement and health after struggling with his own injuries from competing in basketball in high school and recreationally in Olympic-style weightlifting shortly after. Currently he is focusing his studies in NeuroKinetic Therapy (NKT).
In Archie’s spare time, if he is not learning something about the body, you can find him studying and practicing another language. He began studying Japanese in 2016 and Korean in 2020. So feel free to drop a “konnichiwa” or an “anyong” his way!
Why should patients choose you as their provider instead of others in the area?
Archie believes that every practitioner can offer something different to their treatments, so he encourages patients to try out different practitioners or types of treatments, if possible. He believes that this will help patients find out what works best for their goals and their body’s healing needs. That said, Archie provides individualized treatment that focuses on your injury history, how your body compensates for it and how your body likes to move.
What are the top 3 treatments that you focus on?
Archie frequently uses deep tissue massage, myofascial release and NKT treatment & assessment protocols in his treatments.
What are you proud of in your practice?
Archie is proud of making a positive change in people’s lives. Whether that is through relieving or resolving pain, improving or changing movement or posture, or just through good vibes and conversations.
Which cases do you enjoy treating? Why?
Archie enjoys treating chronic cases, especially cases in which the body’s tissue damage has healed but the patient continues to experience pain or movement-related challenges. He believes that addressing compensations and how people move can drastically decrease pain and stimulate the body to heal itself.
