Billy (Pei Yang) Liu, PT

Resident Physiotherapist
I completed my studies in Bachelor of Science from Queen’s University, and Master of Physiotherapy from University of Sydney. After graduation, I worked as a Physiotherapist in Sydney, Australia, in general practice, which included a wide variety of acute and chronic injuries. Since early 2020, I began practicing in Toronto, helping and empowering people during their rehabilitation journey.

Why should patients choose you as their provider instead of others in the area?
I specialize in tailoring a treatment plan according to an individual’s needs. The optimal way to rehab will always be different depending on each person, and my job is working with patients to identify how to reach their goals. There are many factors that contribute to causes of pains and aches, and there is more than one way to resolve those symptoms depending on a person’s lifestyle among other various factors.

What are the top 3 treatments that you specialize in?
My treatment style focuses on a combination of manual therapies and exercises. As well as adjusting patients’ daily activities (work, hobbies, competitions, etc.) throughout their rehabilitation journey, as necessary. So that patients can still continuously focus on their goals, even while recovering through physical rehabilitation.

What are you proud of in your practice?
I am proud of the positive changes my patients achieve through their hard work and consistency with their rehabilitation journey. I enjoy working collaboratively with patients to improve their quality of life as they regain healthy and pain-free movement.

Which cases do you enjoy treating? Why?
I enjoy treating a wide variety of cases. My main interests are in degenerative joint disease management and sports injury prevention/management. I will be pursuing further certifications to support those interests. These interests stem from the variety of injuries I have personally suffered and recovered from during my 15+ years of experiences in strength and conditioning, and organized sports.
