Alex Kim, PT

Alex has received extensive training through McMaster, Western University, the University of Toronto, and UBC. He has gained diverse clinical experience working in multiple clinics, Family Health Teams, and hospitals in a variety of roles.

I provide a comprehensive assessment to determine whether your symptoms stem from muscles, joints, nerves, or other systemic conditions. When appropriate, I collaborate with your GP and other specialists to ensure you receive well-coordinated, holistic care.

During the initial assessment, we will spend time identifying any barriers to recovery (daily aggravating factors, job, posture, activities/sports). At the end of the assessment and subsequent treatment sessions, you will receive a comprehensive Physiotherapy treatment that consists of both hands-on therapy and progression of your exercises.

What are the top 3 treatments that you focus on?
Individualized Physiotherapy Exercise Program
Education (Activity modification, postural awareness, Gradual return-to-work/sports)
Manual Therapy (Soft Tissue Release/Massage to relax tight muscles and Joint Mobilization to get stiff joints moving again)

What are you proud of in your practice?
I am proud to be in a profession that is embedded in both public and private healthcare system. Having had previously worked closely with general physicians and specialists, I strive to provide evidence-based rehabilitation medicine that focuses on empowering patients through movements & exercises. As they say, you don’t “get” physio, you “do” physio. I find it extremely rewarding when my patients feel like they are given the tools & resources to take care of themselves.
