Adelaide | Peter Paul Lim, RMT

Registered Massage Therapist
Peter graduated from Centennial College in 2022 and received his advanced diploma in massage therapy. Peter have also accomplished Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy in his country of origin back in 2018 and has experienced working with patients with acute and chronic neuromuscular & musculoskeletal conditions, and sports injuries.

For treatment techniques, Peter has been providing intervention such as deep tissue massage, relaxation massage, manual lymph drainage, instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM) techniques, fascial stretching, trigger point therapy, active release technique, and remedial exercises.

Why should patients choose you as their provider instead of others in the area?
Peter aims to primarily satisfy his patients by achieving their specific goals after the treatment as long as that goal is safe for the patient, and provide them with the most suitable intervention plan and home care remedies for their specific condition. Also, he’s determined to not just pamper their body, but enlighten their mind about how pain is sometimes an ally and not just the villain in this system. Peter would always like to encourage his patients to move every day in their lives despite of the conditions/injuries an individual is suffering. And, if they are having difficulty in their day-to-day movements, Peter is capable in helping them out and knows what muscles to target that acts for or againsts that certain movement/limitations.

What are the 3 top treatments that you specialized in?
Peter’s top three go-to techniques are active release technique, trigger point therapy, and pin & stretch. He’s been utilizing all of these technique, aside from other techniques, almost every time during his treatments.

What are you proud of in your practice?
Peter values natural recovery or conventional intervention and deeply invested into movement. He believes that massage therapy will help individuals improve their day-to-day activities through the knowledge of massage that the therapists delivers and shares to them about how our complex and fascinating neuromuscular works, and, simply, how our body naturally heals by itself. Even so, it is even magnificent to experience how massage can increase the speed of recovery. Further, Peter is so proud of seeing his client’s dedications in recovery and improvements through massage with him and any other therapists in this field.

Which cases do you enjoy treating? Why?
By being exposed to several health and wellness facilities, it gave Peter a better understanding of how therapist and patient interact and understand each others’ treatment goals. Peter enjoys treating patients with musculoskeletal injuries like unusual muscle tension, strain, sprain, adhesive capsulitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, thoracic outlet syndrome, trigger points, herniated disc, delayed onset muscle soreness, correcting poor postural habits, manual lymphatic drainage, sports-related injuries, work-related dysfunction, and stress.
